At MH Sports Podiatry we focus on the muscles, tendons, ligaments & bone & how movement & load can influence injury & recovery & determine biomechanical mechanisms that may be contributing or have contributed to injury. Utilising the latest technology, we provide an unparalleled insight into lower limb biomechanics & injury risk, using a data informed approach. We then implement a bespoke management plan to resolve the issue & minimise the risk of further injury.

Our sport & musculoskeletal podiatry consultation provides detailed lower limb musculoskeletal assessment with data informed injury specific protocols for accurate, objective assessment of lower limb structure, alignment, strength & function. This helps identify deficits in muscular strength, reduced mobility & any structural or alignment issues that may increase the risk or predispose to injury.

Footscan Gait Analysis

Footscan gait analysis provides real-time dynamic pressure & force data, for accurate & objective analysis of gait at a foot level. It is used to understand foot mechanics & its interaction with the ground. This can aid in identifying areas of high force or prolonged pressure, asymmetries or abnormal gait patterns that may be a risk or contributing factor to injury.

The 'Gold Standard' of gait analysis, with 3 vicon cameras, 1 high speed video camera & 39 reflective markers, capturing accurate & objective real time data of lower limb motion of the hip, knee & ankle. If required combined EMG analysis can provide further insight, analysing muscular activity during gait.

Not offered by any speciality run store or the majority of sports injury clinics, 3D gait analysis provides accurate data informed analysis of every aspect of your gait. This can aid in identifying abnormal gait patterns, injury mechanisms & injury risk factors along with highlighting the influence running footwear or foot orthoses have on lower limb biomechanics.

Strength Testing

Using state of the art testing equipment our strength testing service provides runners of all levels the information they need to fine-tune their strength training, identify injury risks & highlight ways to improve performance. MH Sports Podiatry provides optimal foot health with expert routine foot care. Painful callus, corns or nails can cause foot problems that stop you enjoying your daily activities or walks.

We provide treatment for painful callus, corns & nails, & provide advice around blister management, helping to maintain good overall foot health & prevent problems from re-occurring.
