Podiatry

Podiatrists are medically trained health professionals who specialises in the assessment, diagnosis & management of foot, ankle & lower leg pain & injury. We are experts in the anatomy & function of the foot & ankle.

Our podiatrist at one 2 one has undertaken a BSc (hons) in podiatric medicine, along with a further BSc (hons) Sport & exercise science & an MSc in clinical biomechanics. He is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCP) and HCPC registered, meaning you are guaranteed to see someone properly qualified who is governed by a professional code of conduct and is covered by professional liability insurance.

He specialises in musculoskeletal & sports podiatry, focussing on the muscles, tendons, ligaments & bone & how movement & load can influence injury & recovery.

He can provide highly detailed gait analysis, & can determine biomechanical mechanisms that may be contributing to an injury.

By assessing & analysing the way the foot & lower limb functions, the forces or ‘load’ acting on lower limb structures & if relevant, any current or prior injuries, our podiatrist can provide effective treatment, including

  • Custom & semi-custom foot orthoses
  • Footwear advice & recommendations
  • Exercise rehabilitation

Our podiatrist is best placed to deal with sub-acute or chronic, longer-term lower extremity pain, such as running injuries or persistent heel pain when walking & has worked with professional & elite sports men & women in sports such as athletics, football & rugby & works with non-sporting individuals experiencing foot & ankle related pain & injury.
