one2one Triathlete Adam scores podium finish in Ironman 70.3 Dun Laoghaire

one2one sponsored Triathlete Adam Bowden produced a convincing podium finish in last weekend’s Ironman 70.3 in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, despite battling a mechanical malfunction with his hydration system on the bike.Adam had a great start coming third out of the water seconds behind Alistair Brownlee & Chris Mintern, but sadly the issue with the bike created problems with fuelling and hydration, which meant he struggled to keep pace on the big climbs, seeing him fall back to 7th position going into T2.

However, a phenomenal run saw Adam retake third place behind Alistair Brownlee and last year’s champion, Elliot Smales, proving he is prepared for the challenge of the World Championships in Nice, just two weeks away.

The season so far has been less than kind, with Adam battling injury and illness, but alongside him every step of the way has been Adam’s girlfriend, physiotherapist and sports injury specialist, Rhian Davies, Clinic Director of one2one Therapy.

Access to one2one’s wide range of therapies, massage treatments and sports expertise has played a big part in helping Adam stay race fit despite the ups and downs he has faced this season.

Rhian says:

“I’ve watched Adam battle injury, illness and now mechanical failure this season, but at every turn, he has fought back valiantly and this weekend was no exception – under the circumstances, a podium finish was incredible.

“It’s going to be a huge learning curve as Adam now heads for the World Championships in just two weeks, but to our therapists and customers, who have watched Adam’s determination, courage and commitment this season, he’s already a champion.

“We’re all behind Adam as he now heads into his biggest test of the year – if everything goes right, we truly believe there is nothing that can stop him.”

The World Championships in Nice take place on 7-8 September.
