Our sponsored athlete, Adam Bowden, returned to Triathlon for his first race since lockdown in February.

COVID season has brought it’s training challenges, with Adam being unable to swim for the 4-5 months since lockdown, and no gym or strength and conditioning sessions since March, so it’s great to see Adam returning to compete in the Outlaw X Triathlon 2020 at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire, which allows triathletes of all ability levels to race on a truly beautiful course.
Event organisers say: “Following a 1.2m swim in Thoresby Lake, athletes will embark on a spectacular 56m ride through the north Nottinghamshire countryside before completing their epic journey with a 13.1m run through 1000 acres of unspoilt English countryside within the grounds of the historic Thoresby Park.” It sounds so wonderful, you could almost forget how gruelling a triathlon is! However, on the day itself the swim was reduced to 750m due to the air temperature on a brisk UK September morning.
Adam finished fourth, just missing out on a podium place, but he really enjoyed getting back out there and doing what he does best. Here’s his post-race interview:
